Sudigadu begins with Shiva (Allari Naresh) who grows up and wants to be a real hero in society. He grows up with his grandmother (Kovai Sarala) and doesn’t know about the location of his parents. Meanwhile, Shiva sees Priya (Monal) and falls in love with her. She also accepts his love and as usual her father objects. Shiva grows up to become a rich man and the marriage gets fixed. But Shiva is asked about his parents and he decides to find them. They live in Seemapuram working with Thikkala Reddy (Jayaprakash) a noted factionist. And Thikkala Reddy is waiting to take his revenge on Shiva. Why he wants to do that? Whether Shiva will unite with his parents or not, all this forms the rest of the story.
Plus: Allari Naresh, First Half an Hour, Few Spoofs, Cinematography.
Minus: Songs, Editing, Forcibly added spoofs, Dragged second half.
Allari Naresh doing both characters of Father and Son was easy one for him and he has done complete justice to his roles. His Dialogue delivery and modulation being his added advantage, occupies the entire framing. Finally Monal Gajjar’s 1st film released, her acting levels were okay. She is sizzling in Zara Zara Track. Boys gang (M S Narayana, Kondavalasa and LB Sriram) they add some expectancy to the spoof movie. The gang doesn’t have anything to deliver, but cracks jokes which make the audience vexed. Hema is fine as the mother of sudden star. Jayaprakash Reddy was fantastic dancing to Pinky Ponky song. Cameos from Posani, Venu Madhav are funny. Rests of the characters are supportive.
Director Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao who’s famous for sentimental films like Suryavamsam, Suswagatham, Subhakanshalu modified his style with Sudigadu. Director narrated First 30 minutes in engaging and hilarious manner, but failed to continue the spirit later on. Narration in the second could have handled better. Maryadha Ramanna, Businessman, Aata Dance Show, Magadheera Agora Episode, Thodakottu Public School are spoofs worth mentioning. Dialogues are entertaining. Bullets following the Take Diversion rule board is the BEST scene of the movie.
Musical score by Sri Vasanth is second rate, Except Introduction song and Zara Zara no other song is successful in capturing our senses. BGM is fine. Vijay Vulaganath’s cinematography is splendid and his serious efforts for placement of innovative camera angles are appealing. Editing by Goutham Raji could have been better. The runtime of the film could have been easily reduced by 20 minutes trimming unwanted spoofs episodes of Khaleja, Pedharayudu, Dammu, Gharshana and 7th sense. Art by Raghu Kulkarani is creative. Fights choreography by Ram-Lakshman, Prakash, Venkat is OK.
Survi Verdict: Sudigadu is high budgeted Allari Naresh film, with bits of movie spoofs that doesn’t cling unitedly to meet the expectations that the theatrical trailer has raised. The director has picked the scenes that he wanted to spoof and somehow tried to prepare a story out of it. So the movie hangs out at some places with irrelevant Spoof episodes and Narration.
