Seth MacFarlane’s TED (2012) Movie Review
Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane, Joel McHale, Giovanni Ribisi
Director: Seth MacFarlane
Genre: Comedy
Running Time: 115 min.
A man wrestles with the lingering consequences of a childhood wish in this live action comedy from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. Ted (voiced by writer-director Seth MacFarlane) and Johnny (Mark Wahlberg) share a laugh in Ted. The talking teddy bear got his powers when 8-year-old Johnny wished upon a falling star for Ted to speak. Incredibly, that wish was granted. But now that John (Mark Wahlberg) is all grown up, his boyhood dream has become a nightmare nuisance. . The time comes when he must make a choice between his new girlfriend, Lori Collins, and his faithful but extremely inappropriate teddy bear.
Mark Wahlberg proves he can be a comedian, He did a fine job. Mila Kunis is okay and she has some nice chemistry with the Mark Wahlberg. MacFarlane deliver goods with the dubbing of Ted. The comic timing is just perfect. Even the animation of TED is too realistic. TED didn’t have a story to tell, its a simple romantic comedy about a guy who can’t grow into a man because as long as he has a teddy bear he will always be a kid. The freshness of the humor does diminish as the story builds up. Director Seth Macfarlane makes his first live action film debut, and boy it’s was funny. Music and Cinematography are appropriate.
Scenes I Liked:
- Thunder Fart song
- Shit on the FLOOR
- TED scenes at GROSSERY stores
- Mark Guessing Girl name
- TED fight with MARK
Survi Verdict: TED a comedic effort from Macfarlane, Wahlberg and team. In an era where there are shockingly few genuinely funny, original comedies available to the public ,TED manages to hit a home run in the laughs category, while adding more than a touch of heart to kick. The acting was good- with a couple of surprising cameos. TED is Smart, funny, interesting – a enjoyable film.
