The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Dead Man’s Chest (2006) and At World’s End (2007) have made the studio billions of dollars while ensuring that Johnny Depp’s endearing ‘Jack Sparrow’ is one of the most instantly recognizable fictional characters in contemporary cinema. Story:

Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past named Angelica. He is not sure if he’s in love with her, or if she is a con artist who’s trying to use him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. After Angelica forces Jack to board Blackbeard’s ship, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, he finds himself on a new adventure. During the journey, Captain Jack Sparrow must face new challenges, like zombies and mermaids, in order to reach the Fountain of Youth.

Performance:

Johnny Depp already has an Oscar for depicting this role. There is no series without him. But if you take him out of this movie, there is no movie at all. The rest of the cast is overshadowed by him. Penelope Cruz does a fine job. The mermaids were extremely Beautiful and nicely made, which i think was one of the best parts of the film.

The 3D bit is a complete sham, not once do you feel wowed by the extra dimension during the course of the movie. Most of the film is shot at night, so the 3D makes it even darker.

Screenplay writers (Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott) should be blamed for clumsy, unattractive script that borrows from history and melds it with fiction into a hotchpotch that provides little joy to viewers.

Hans Zimmer’s was fab with his background score left us completely unmoved.

Film lacks coherence, otherwise entertaining and fun, a good adventure relaxation, unless you like smart films (this is probably sheer fun, don’t look for much depth here)… To conclude, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ average flick for regular audience and worth a watch movie for ‘Captain’ Jack Sparrow fans…
