Anirudh Ravichander’s Ethir Neechal (2012) Audio Review
Anirudh Ravichander touched the peak of popularity by the Kolaveri Di song in the film “3”. Dhanush who wrote this song also himself sung this song. This song became too popular among the viewers and received many awards. Now this young composer is presently composing music for Dhanush’s maiden production venture Ethir Neechal starring Sivakarthikeyan and Priya Anand in lead roles and it is directed by newcomer Senthil. Audio of Ethir Neechal launched recently. Audio has 5 tracks and 1 Theme Song.
Bhoomi Enna Suthudhe [Singers: Anirudh Ravichander, Lyrics: Dhanush] — Bhoomi Enna Suthudhe makes a great start to the album, the track being an offbeat narrative like lazy fun song sung to excellence by Anirudh Ravichander and skillfully orchestrated…
Ethir Neechal [Singers: Adhi, Anirudh Ravichander, YOYO Honey Singh, Lyrics: Vaali] — Very YOYO Honey Singh-ish track with trendy club beats, a lot of things mixed together (Tamil flavor – Rap touch start and impressive orchestration). Good and promising singing by Yo Yo Honey Singh. Anirudh & Adhi are good too. It’s an irresistible piece for repeat hearing.
Local Boys [Singers: Dhanush, Velmurugan, Lyrics: R.S. Durai Senthilkumar] – Here comes the KUTHU track, Local Boys is a nice song for dance floors with good mass beats. The song is energetic and makes the listener shake his body as long as the song plays. Dhanush and Velmurugan sang this song with good energy in their tone. Lyrics by Durai Senthilkumar are youthful & Peppy.
Nijamellam Maranthu Pochu [Singers: Anirudh Ravichander, Dhanush, Lyrics: Dhanush] — Anirudh composed this song ‘Nijamellam Maranthu’ with excellent techy orchestration. Singers did a good job. The flute in the beginning is absolutely gorgeous. Lyrics are supportive of the song mood and the song flows accordingly.
Un paarvayil [Singers: Anirudh Ravichander, Vivek Siva, Lyrics: R.S. Durai Senthilkumar] — Un Paarvayi is the theme rendered by Anirudh & Vivek Siva. The lyrics are okay and seem to be a background song in the movie. The instrumentation is again different and noteworthy.
Velicha Poove Va [Singers: Mohit Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Lyrics: Vaali] – Flute – strings dominated romantic track. Track soulfully rendered in the voices of Mohit and Shreya. Vali also adds to the parts of beauty by some of the best uncomplicated lyrics. Lovely track.
On the whole, Anirudh has nearly outdone himself with this album, which shows his true talent and dedication. One of the qualities of the Ethir Neechal album is that every track grow on you with every hearing. Trendy ALBUM from TRENDSETTING team…
