Comedian Sunil turned as hero from the movie “Andala Ramudu”. From there he got so many successes as hero and settled in that position. After Poolarangadu, which was released last year, Mr Pellikoduku stands next in Sunil’s filmography in terms of protagonist. Beautiful Isha Chawla is playing opposite Sunil. Sunil has once again teamed up with Isha Chawla for this movie after the success of Poolarangadu. This is not only a big project of Sunil but even a kind of turning point given it’s apparently projects him as a stylish actor. Let check out the review for more details…
Story: Buchibabu (Sunil) returns to India from USA after a long gap of 6years due to the pressure of his family for marriage proposal. Buchi Babu instantly falls in love with Anjali (Isha Chawla) in his first pelli choopulu but the latter has some other plans and has a boyfriend as well. She shows her wild side to Buchi Babu with which he drops of the marriage proposal and decides to go ahead to see other bridegrooms. However, Buchibabu couldn’t forget Anjali and meanwhile, the duo again meets at their friend’s wedding and what happens between them forms the rest of the story.
Performance: Sunil is decent. His dances are good. But, his body language does not suit the stature of character. His histrionics are flat when compared to his last flick in lead. Isha Chawla is very artificial in her expressions… Ahuthi Prasad is fine. Ravi Babu is okay as Baddy. Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, MS Narayana and Ali are appropriate in their respective roles. Rest of the characters were supportive.
Technicalities: As we know it’s the remake of Bollywood super hit Tanu Weds Manu. The basic storyline is interesting. However the execution of the story is bad. There is bit of freshness in the first half. However, the direction has gone completely out of track in second half. Screenplay of the film is shabby. Direction is not up to the mark. Narration of the film is boring most of the times. Music by S A Raj Kumar is terrible. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is average. Editing by Nandamuri Hari could have been crispier. Dialogues are mediocre.
Survi verdict: First half of the film has occasional good moments. Second half of the film is boring. The climax of the film is very badly handled. With a silly script, unskilled execution, dreadful music and unimpressive performances, this film roasts the poor viewer. Mr. Pellikoduku turns out to be a mere waste of time and money.
