Movie Review: Sumanth’s RAAJ
Film: Raaj
Starring: Sumanth, Vimala Raman, Priyamani
Director: V.N. Aditya
Producer: Kumar Brothers
Banner: Kumar Brothers Cinema
Music: Koti
Survi Review: 3.5/10
Vizhi Shipivistha has initially directed this film and titled it as ‘Rimjim’. However, the movie was later handed over by director, V.N.Aditya for some unknown reasons. So, the title of the film also has changed. Priyamani and Vimala Raman are playing the female leads in the film. The film is equally important for all the actors, Sumanth, Vimala Raman, Priyamani and as well as director, V.N.Aditya who are undergoing a herd time with a series of flops in the Telugu industry.
Story:
Raj (Sumanth) and Mythali (Priya Mani) will get engaged as decided by their families. Mythali will be very happy for this alliance. After the engagement, Raj falls in love with Priya (Vimala Raman) in some mysterious situation and decides to marry her. All of sudden one day Priya is found missing and Raj gets married to Mythali according to his father’s word. Being seriously in love Priya he doesn’t maintain any closeness with Mythali. Many days after getting married, Raj forgets his love and tries to get close with Mythali. When this happens to take place, all of a sudden he finds Priya. He comes to know that Priya left him due to some obstacles. Mythali who comes to know about this misunderstands Raj. How Raj saves Priya from her problems? Will he get back Mythali in his life or marries Priya makes the crux of the story.
Performance:
Sumanth has given very subtle performance. Priyamani is seductive and apt. Vimala Raman is hot but somewhere falls into negative shades. Ajay and Ali were okay in their roles. Screenplay is bad. Music composed in the film is no where pleasing to ears. Script chosen is very confusing. There is no proper lead to some of the scenes. Cinematography is not of first rate.
Plus:
*Sumanth
*Oomph Factor
Minus:
*Direction
*Music
*Screenplay
*Cinematography
*Old Storyline
Survi Verdict:
People will go insane by watching this film. There is nothing to talk about the flick. The film has no sleek look, great lines or zingy music either. Go ahead, be a martyr.
