The much awaited and hyped Blockbuster movie Nagavalli, a sequel to the hit movie Chandramukhi has hit the theatres today and has already received a grand opening.
Story:
Like in Chandhramukhi , a family is devasted by the strage things happening in their house after the painting of Nagavalli is brought home. To solve this mystery, Ramachandra Acharya is called upon. Then Acharya calls upon Dr.Vijay after realizing that the problem is similar what he had seen in Chandhramukhi. Dr.Vijay and Ramachandra Acharya, both had thought that the problems created by Nagavalli had ended in Original Part. Then they discuss on this aspect several times but fail to come to a conclusion on any matter. Well, the story takes curious twist in the second half. From then some interesting twists and turns lead to climax.
Performance:
Story which is in line with Chandramukhi and sequences which are well connected to the old story, attention to minor details in the movie, science and myth which come face to face in the discussions of Dr.Vijay and Acharya, proofs provided in support of the surprising elements in the movie.
Venkatesh comes in two roles (Dr Vijay, King Nagabhairava) and gives an outstanding performance. He has given his heart and soul for the film. His voice modulation in the role of the cruel King Nagabhairava is a must watch. He has put in lots of effort to show the difference in three characters.
Director P Vasu has tried to include enough number of twists and turns to make the movie Nagavalli interesting. He has a tighten grip over the narration too. But the story is weak, predictable and lacks freshness.
Along with blending the seriousness of Ramachandra Acharya with comedy of Bhramanandam and Dharmavarapu Subbramanyam, the director has also managed to include a few action scenes.Although the movie is the sequel of Chandhramukhi, it has only three characters like Psychiatrist, Nagavalli and Ramachandra Acharya are taken from original and the others are replaced by new ones.
Anushka,Richa,Sraddha,Kamalinee and Poonam Kaur have done a good job, Avinash has done full justice to the role of Ramachandra Acharya. Editing was abrupt in few places but it was required at many places to alter the lengthl. Costumes were apt, stylish and the art department was rich. Gurukiran’s Backgroundmusic is another highlight of the movie, but his music lacks the charm that existed in Chandhramukhi.
Overall:
First half starts off slow with regular chandramukhi type scenes and comedy,Second half turns out be good with some twists and turns.Nagavalli does not offer anything extraordinary when compared to the original Chandramukhi,Except some technical values. At Box-Office Nagavalli will be doing an Average fare.
Bottom-Line: Chandramukhi >> Nagavalli
