Much sought after criminal Jasimine Falguna (Jafa) lands himself in jail where he tries to solve the problems of prisoners. For people who wonder how he could solve problems, earlier he used to work as a software engineer under sadistic boss (Melkote) but finds in jail thanks to his colleague Sujith who commits suicide mentioning Jafa’s name. Jafa and jailer Viki (Vennela Kishore) sketches a plan to escape from prison. Whether they will be successful in their efforts should be found on silver screen.
At first the viewer believes that it is a comedy in the offing and after a while, things turn out to be silly with full of PJ’s (Poor [Pichi] Jokes). Then, there are some attempts to make Bhrami the king at the prison, by helping the fellow prisoners. Well, it could be confusing but by then you are sure that this one is going to be a damp squib. Sadly, even worse things are in store with an absurd climax sequence.
The only curious thing here is to understand how director Vennela Kishore managed to rope in the technicians and the cast to join their silly comedy film. The makers are clearly eyeing at the satellite rights, which some of the stars seems to command. Raja’s visuals and Anoop Rubens’s tunes are pretty ordinary.
Bramanandam is the only asset to the movie. His expressions carry punch and he did his best though there are no laughing stock scenes in the movie. Others like Ali, Sravan, Dhanraj, Raghu Babu had trammeled scope for performing.
Survi Verdict: There is no point in prim words, director Vennela Kishore’s Jaffa is a blatant example of irresponsible film-making Here is a clear case of taking the viewers for a ride and everyone involved in this ridiculous exercise rests on an explanation for simply wasting the time and money of the poor viewers.
Note: If you are someone who is looking for harmless gags that would keep you engaged for a couple of hours, you are likely to be in for a huge disappointment.
