Much awaited Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Mythological flick Sri Rama Rajyam released today (Nov 17). After long time, Balakrishna is playing mythological role and obviously his fans are having huge expectations on the movie. Even versatile director Bapu who directed many classics taken this project very challenging and completed the flick.
Bala Krishna plays the role of Rama. Nayantara plays the role of Sita. Legendrary Akkineni Nageshwara Rao plays Valmiki and Hero Srikanth plays the character of Laxman. Mullapudi Venkataramana has written the script for the movie. This would be the last movie for Nayanatara as she is getting married to Prabhu Deva shortly.
Story-line:
Sri Ramarajyam movie is based on Uttara Ramayanam. In which, Balakrishna is plays lord Rama in a film and Nayantara will portray the role of Sita. They comes back to Ayodhya after ‘Ravana Samharam’ and ‘Agni Pareeksha’. After Sri Rama’s ‘pattabhishekam’, he comes to know that Sita is pregnant. When everything is going fine, people speak low about Rama and Sita as she spent one year in Ravana’s place. Rama has to leave Sita in order to protect his family values. Sita is sent to the forest and there she gives birth to Lava and Kusa. Will the Ayodhya be happy after knowing the Truth? Will the Family get together or not? Is the remaining storyline.
Pleasure Performances:
Balakrishna lived in the role of RAMA. This can be considered his life time role to cherish. For all those who are comparing Balakrishna to NTR, I don’t mind saying “he was not even close to his NTR skills”. Nayanatara as SITA did an outstanding job. I’m sure she will get NANDI best actress award for this year. Akkineni Nageshwar Rao as VALMIKI, Srikanth as LAKSHMANA were fine. Roja as BHOODEVI, Bhramanandam as CHAKALI TIPPADU in cameo’s were okay. Gourav and Dhanush Kumar as LUVA KUSHA are apt. The kid HANUMAN character was pretty good.
Technical Treasure:
This film is a remake of NTR’s classic LAVA KUSHA. Bapu proved his mettle again why is rated among the best directors of Tollywood. He narrated the movie in a great way in the first half with perfect emotions and grandeur. It could have been better if he could have worked more on second half screenplay. Songs by maestro Ilayaraja and Lyrics by Jonnavithula are the biggest ASSET of Sri Rama Rajyam. Even Ilayaraja’s BGM given a perfect feel to emotional scenes. Dialogues by Mullapudi Venkata Ramana are good in parts and could have been better. Editing by CG Krishna Rao could have been more crispier. Cinematography by PRK RAJU is very good. Graphics and Art works are biggest plus for the movie adds a lot grand feel to the movie.
Survi Verdict:
Sri Rama Rajyam starts off pretty GOOD with nice Music, Visuals and Narration. But pace drops lag starts in the second half, but its fine as for an mythological flick would have been better it was crisp. Positives of Sri Rama Rajyam are Nayanatara as Sita, Ilayaraja Music, Graphics, Digital Integration, Art, and Sai Baba Production Values. On the flip side its Lengthy Episodes, Climax, Screenplay, Fights, Lags inbetween. Overall, Sri Rama Rajyam will satisfy Nandamuri fans and Mythological lovers, Others can wait for its HOME EDITION.
