Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours (2011) Movie Review (First On Net)

Story:

A true story about the mountain climber Aron Ralston’s remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a sixty five foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued. Throughout his journey, Ralston recalls friends, lovers, family, and the two hikers he met before his accident. Will they be the last two people he ever had the chance to meet?

Performance:

James Franco, who in my opinion, just gave the best performance of his life. Kate Mara and Amber Tamblyn were hot in their small roles. Danny Boyle combined his direction and incredible editing team make this journey both fast paced and emotional at the same time, something very hard to accomplish. The cinematography by Anthony Dod Mantle and Enrique Chediak  is breathtaking. Another thing worth mentioning is the soundtrack that includes original pieces by A. R. Rahman. The music fits the film near perfect throughout and it wouldn’t surprise if a few nominations or awards will pop out during the events of 2011.

Things to remember  :

1.always carry a branded Knife while going for a tour.

2. Tell someone where you are going

3. Answer the phone when your mother calls

4. If you get to meet hots girls at your adventure trip, Hang out with girls rather than carrying on lonely with your trip 😉

Overall:

A worth watch for its true gritting direction, very fine cinematography,  brilliant performances and soulful background music.. go for it.
