Audio Review : Nagarjuna’s RAGADA (2010)

This movie directed by Veeru potla and Produced by D siva Prasad Reddy under sri kamakshi Enterprises Banner.This film music has composed by Thaman S & Lyrics Penned by Rama Jogayya Sashtri.

A racy mass song sung well by Karthik and Geetha Madhuri.Thaman’s tune and music in the interludes are in sync with each other.Rama Jogayya Sashtri ‘s lyrics are now typical of him for such songs. This one’s picturized on Nagarjuna and Priyamani and is supposed to be a good dance number.

Karthik and Anuradha Sriram combination is like water and oil -hardly made for each other. But the beauty is that the two are good in their own way. Anuradha Sriram is in fact pretty lively in higher octaves. Karthik underplays his talent. The orchestration is the sore point.  Bottomline is, the song has some good parts but average to listen.

Fast paced song starts off interestingly (Manmadhuada…. Magada…), the vocals are quite energetic with the artists Shankar Mahadevan, Rita, Hima Bindhu putting in high pitch(..Ragada). The beats of the song is quite fast and lyricist Rama Jogayya Sashtri has woven the words that have good epinephrin. Thaman’s usage of drums and guitar is quite interesting.

This fast number gives a feel of western start with the starting line “Okadante Okadante Handsome,Veedi Ukkulanti Body Awesome”. But later it changes into a typical Telugu track. Ramya and Suchitra have synchronized their voices effectively.

Baba Sehgal, Chitra and Rita sung this party styled song, penned by Ramajogaiah Sastry. The lines have a beautiful mix of Telugu and English words. The music is quite average and it is not of any particular style.Thaman seems to have over-stretched himself to sound smart.

This is a soft melody number that runs on a mild note and even the music is soothing to the moods. Hariharan has dominated with his voice and the chorus has got a very subtle presence, there is a tune that reminds one of Devi Sri Prasad but Thaman has brought in variety in this. The melody aspect has been quite evident and yet again Rama Jogayya Sashtri has deftly explained the innocence of love and the sensitivity with his articulate words. This is more appealing to the classy audience.

Overall,commercially entertaining audio by Thaman for mass Nag fans.
