Mickey J Meyer’s Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2012) Audio Review

Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu starring Victory Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu in the lead roles is gearing up for a grand release for Pongal in January. Srikanth Addala is directing this family entertainer and Dil Raju is producing it. Crew definitely deserve applause for bringing the project on rails and nearly, complete it as per schedule. Audio release of this prestigious project happened yesterday at Ramanaidu Studios, Nanakramguda. Dil Raju must be appreciated for the way he arranged things at the audio launch.

Mickey J Meyer and director Srikanth Addala share a good rapport. It was evident in their earlier venture Kotha Bangaru lokam. The songs became a craze. Now the two come together for Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and expectations soar high.

Music Director Mickey J Meyer tune is quite catchy, though it might remind a track from Kotha Bangaru Lokam, but the intermezzi are creatively set with nicely chosen orchestration. Chitra has truly enjoyed crooning for this song. It will be very surprising if this song does not rule the charts for a long time. Lyrics by Anantha Sreeram bring in some good expressions. Good start for the Album.

Yem Cheddam – a simple song sung by talented singers. The tune and rhythm of this song reminds us of bits n pieces of few songs. Ranjith, Sri Ram Chandra and Karthik are really gifted and even though this song does not give them the scope to really excel but they have still given up their best. Look out for the nice change in modulations all through the song.

Rahul – Shwetha Pandit croon this usual melody number, which is infused with modern sounds and beats. OK tune which somehow lacks punch. Problem maybe with the tempo, anyway an average song.

Meghalo track starts with simple tune. The tune catches up within a few times of listening to it. Sriram Chandra & Karthik has sung this song with ease. Good lyrics which gives the marriage feeling. Good arrangements. Worth listening.

The tune has the right feel to it and the interludes keep the audience still glued. Orchestra is an appreciable ensemble too. Sriram Chandra renders the song perfectly. Lyrics are good, Esp, Ekkilu Petti Edusthunte Kastam Pothunda.. Kadha!.. “Kastapadi sandinchali sukha Sansthulu”.

Rendered delightfully by Anjana Sowmya & Karthik, the songs offer that nostalgia of a village song. The song has some good lyrics. The tune lacks freshness in parts, essentially because there have been several songs with a similar musical influence on the tune. Vaana Chinukula gets better as it progresses.

Survi Verdict: All the songs from Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu have simple and okay tunes and lyrics without missing the music director’s mark much. A clean performance by Mickey J Meyer, another hit Telugu movie album for Mickey j Meyer… Go for it!!
