The Darkest Hour a Sci-Fi flick which starts off when young entrepreneurs Ben (Max Minghella) and Sean (Emile Hirsch) fly to Moscow to finish a business deal about at Mobile App. But Skyler (Joel Kinnaman) takes the opportunity steals the idea and re creates the same app. Being helpless both leave the office and enters Disco. Where they meet American girls, Natalie (Olivia Thirlby) and Anne (Rachael Taylor). When suddenly the Current in the Disco gets off and a Golden Wave starts shining in the Sky. Soon the people realize that those are alien units which has capability to turn people into ASHES. What Happens next?? Will they survive? Why did the aliens choose earth? Watch the remaining film to find answers for these questions. Coming to performances Emile Hirsch and Oliva Thirlby were okay. Rest of the cast Racheal taylor, Joel Kinnaman. Veronika Ozerova offers mediocre support. Direction of Chris Gorak is ordinary. Story is lacks originality even the Darkest Hour follows (Aliens – Earth – Invasion- Young group counter fires on aliens), which is pretty regular storyline on screen these days. Screenplay is biggest drawback of the film. Music by Tyler Bates is all right. The Visual Effects were major asset of the movie, but in 3D movie looks pretty dim due to its night shots. Editing could have been sharp. On the whole, The Darkest Hour is a simple minded movie. Which disappoints even when you enter the screening with no expectations.  Skip It…
