Storyline:

After Successful Don: The Chase Begins Again (2006), Which itself an remake of an Amitabh’s classic with same name. Farhan Akhtar and Sharukh team again for the sequel of this venture and continue the story forward. Don established his complete domination in Underworld in Asia. Now he moves ahead and decides to take over the European underworld.  To execute this plan Don (SRK) needs Vardhan (Boman Irani) who is the Kuala Lumpur Jail. To escape Vardhan, Don surrenders himself before the Detectives Malik (Boman Irani) and Roma (Priyanka Chopra) in Kuala Lumpur. Will Vardhan Believe the DON? Will Don execute the plan? will he lead the European underworld? is the rest of the storyline.

Pleasure Performances:

Don 2 takes place five years after the Don: The chase begins again. Even then Sharukh continues his hunky-dory form with Don character. Don one-liners are one the biggest assets of this franchise and even this version has some puckish dialogues. But Sharukh’s character was not fully nourished, that’s what makes a lot of difference between the both the ventures. Even then Sharukh gives his best with the attitude and charismatic facial expressions. Priyanka chopra an Interpol detective didn’t have the scope what she had in DON, but she performed well in the climax. Lara Dutta has an limited character, she adds much required glamour quotient to the movie. Boman given his best to the Vardhan character, it was tailor made character for him. Hrithik Roshan’s cameo was fine. He fits in well. Aly Khan, Nawab Khan, Kunal Kapoor were supportive in their roles.

Technical Treasure:

Farhan Akhtar who given his entry with cult movie Dil Chahta Hai, After then he was never close to his entry effort and all other his directed movies fared second-rate. Though his production and performances given some memorable movies like Rock On, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. After decent Don (2006), Farhan Akhtar hyped Don 2 with good promotions and trailers. Farhan showed his capabilities with Stylish taking. But he failed to narrate it in Entertaining and Engaging way. Lyrics by Javed Saab were nice. Music and Background Music by Shanker Eshaan Loy was the biggest drawback. None of the songs were at least close to their songs in Don (2006). Vaibhavi Merchant didn’t have the scope to give her impact through the Songs Choreography. Jason West’s (Rock On Fame) cinematography was fantastic. Editing by Anand Subaya could have been crispier. Fights were gracious crafted well. Production values were howling.

Movie released in both in 3D and 2D versions. I would rather prefer 2D version than the 3D, as its not as clear and effective as it should be in 3 Dimensional.

Survi Verdict:

Don 2 starts off with decent with stylish introductions and dialogues. but drags a lot at pre-Interval and post-intermission. But later gains a constant momentum till the climax. Some scenes from the movie recall us of scenes from Hollywood flicks like ocean eleven, Mission impossible and Die Hard. Positives of Don 2 are Stylish taking, Performances, Cinematography and Dialogues. On the flipside its Songs, Humor, Dragging Climax, Slow Narration in the first half. On the whole, Don 2 is average flick that can be watched once for sharukh khan and Stylish direction.
