Pixar’s Cars 2 (2011) Movie Review
The Movie Directed by John Lasseter, and Co-Directed by Brad Lewis
Writers: Ben Queen (screenplay), John Lasseter, Brad Lewis, Dan Fogelman (story)
Starring: (voice) Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, Jason Issacs, Thomas Kretschmann…
Cars 2 Storyline: Star racecar Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and his best friend, tow truck Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix. But the road to the championship is filled with potholes, detours, and surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile races and being part of a top-secret spy mission, Master’s journey leads him on explosive chases through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world.
What I Liked: The technical side of the film is utterly amazing.
What I Didnt: This version of Cars 2 really disappoints through unoriginal storytelling, lack of character development, convoluted plot, and over violence inappropriateness for kids.
Survi Verdict: It’s not terrible, but you shouldn’t see this movie expecting any of the “magic” and innovation that Cars had… I go with 2.5/5.
