Jai Jiddu (Varun Sandesh) a happy go lucky guy and a misogynist. Jai meets Mahalakshmi (Haripriya) over a train journey to Rajahmundry from Hyderabad for a family event. In a short journey, Jai starts liking her and they leave to their respective places. But the memories of Mahalakshmi keep ghosting him. Luckily after the family event, he gets to meet with her and gets introduced to her beautiful family. By the time, girl accepts an arranged marriage proposal by her parents and broken Jai leaves to Hyderabad. As the fate decides it, due to a grotesque incident Mahalakshmi meets Jai. By this time, she is in bride costume with a groom waiting outside the Hanuman Temple, Ameerpet. To know what the climax is all about, watch the film.
There are some huge problems in the casting and performance department of the film. Varun Sandesh seriously needs to polish his acting skills. It’s pitiful to pass such a comment for an actor who is in the industry from past seven years. Its hightime he start choosing script that will fetch him a lot of applaud. Haripriya had done justice to her character. She is looked well in every scene. Chalapathi Rao, Hema, Viswanath are okay in limited characters. Comedian Dhanraj, Jeeva, Chandra, Seenu and the gang tries adding a different dose of comedy but it wasn’t so effective on screen. Rest of the characters didn’t have any great importance in the movie.
Story of the film is very thin and director fails to convince his viewers with that small line. The screenplay has many loopholes. Starting with same kind of set up seen in the films like Dongodu and Tarun’s Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu, it takes off nicely but then drags becomes boring within the first half an hour. Director even fails to clarify whether the lead actor was interested in women or not initially and continues narrating the love angle post the introduction song. The story developments are not able to engage you at all and one keeps waiting for something good to happen on the screen till the climax. First half seems little boring as if plot was dragging unnecessarily but in the second its just dries down totally. In a short, nothing in Ee Varsham Sakshiga impresses you and post interval one simply fees like wasting time in the theatre helplessly. The songs in the film by Anil Gopi Reddy are below average and a little alleviation provided by the Background Score (By Vikas K). Cinematographer captured few locations decently, but if a director thinks that by only showing good locales can win over audience, then he needs to work upon his artistry a lot more. Editor Nandamuri Hari should have easily trimmed down the chase sequences, the unnecessary song sequences in the film. The production values of Rahuul Movie makers are all right.
To Sum up, Ee Varsham Sakshiga is disappointing to say the least and yet another Meleagris gallopavo adding to a loooooong list of out Tollywood films especially over the last few weeks, a list whose ingress continue to rise alarmingly high week after week.
