Trinadha Rao Nakkina’s Mem Vayasuku Vacham (2012) Movie Review
Cast: Tanish, Niti Taylor, Madalsa Sharma, Bhagya Raja, Surya, Sana, Kasi Viswanath, Snighdha, Rama Prabha, Raksha, Mahabub Bhasha etc
Music: Sekhar Chandra
Dialogues: Nivas
Cinematography: Sai Sriram
Editing: Pudi Pravin
Story – screenplay – direction: Trinadha Rao Nakkina
Storyline: Lucky [Tanish] a fun loving engineering student, Dil [Niti Taylor] is a middle class muslim girl. Lucky falls in love with Dil, But Dil never felt the same feeling regarding Lucky. Later she gets engaged with a Muslim guy, that’s when she starts realizing Lucky’s love. Will Lucky – Dil marry? Will parents accept their love? Forms the rest of the story.
Performance: Tanish looks dignified with his spectacles and blazer in the start of the film. Later he was apt and suited as Engineering student. Tanish surprised everyone with his ease in histrionics. He should reduce some weight and develop a decent body to compliment his romantic brand and work on his dancing skills. Niti Taylor is pretty good in this film. She looked very sensible in histrionics. Madalsa Sharma is glamorous compared to Allasyam Amrutham. But not sizzling enough to attract the attention of Telugu audience.
Among the other character artists, only Surya and Kasi Viswanath had given some meaty performance with a couple of important dialogues to tell. They change the direction of film in the Pre climax with his controlled performance. Snigdha as Syamala and Mahabub Bhasha as Ismile were perfect with their comedy timing. Rests of the characters were good.
Technical Stuff: The story of the film is prepared in typical Teenage Rom-Com format. Direction of the film is good in parts. But the screenplay and narration needs amelioration. The director could come up with good entertainment and sentiment proportionality post interval. Songs by Sekhar Chandra is one of the major assets for the film. His background score lifted some scenes. Editing could have been crunchier. Cinematography by Sai Sriram is neat. The shots taken for the hero introduction and Songs deserve a special mention. Dialogues by Nivas are good. Production values were good.
Survi Verdict: This film is full of Live Entertainment. All the Teenage Rom-Com lovers can watch this film without any falter. First half of the film has good entertainment. Second half is the wussy. The scenes in which the couple gets separated in the second half is not so effective. The story in second half runs in a predictable mode. Plus points of the film are Cinematography, music, Dialogues, locations and Lead Cast performances. On the flip side its Predictable second half, Editing, Dragged Climax and Thin Storyline. Mem Vayasuku Vacham is a decent love story with some cute and cherishing moments, Worth a Watch.
