Once again, a familiar formula. Nice guy (Siddharth) mesmerized by popular girl (Raaga) in school. But popular girl doesn’t know he exists and she is attracted to Yodha (Yodha). Then Nice Guy pushes his way into popular girl’s life with the help of crazy Ezee (Nagendra). He helps her when she needed it. However, popular girl still likes popular crumb Yodha. Nice guy (Siddharth) pines for her anyway, and eventually changes her mind with his politeness. Happily ever after again.

“Chiru Godavalu” is a freemake of Hollywood film – “10 Things I Hate About You” (1999) and has shades of Telugu film “O Chinnadanna” (2002). [Log-line: 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) is inspired by Shakespeare classic play, The Taming Of The Shrew, Which is set in a modern day high school].But sadly movie doesn’t live upto its original. It has no proper script and the poor execution by the debutant director Trikaran Reddi (Trained in AISFM) makes it even drilling. 20 Minutes into the movie, you feel restless with all those oafish scenes and dull romantic sequences.

The cast does try pretty hard, but the script is so unfunny, it’s hard to blame the performances for being as weak as they are, and most of the jokes fell flat and over used. Probably because most of them were adopted (ahem…!) from 10 Things I hate About You. Everything in this movie had a humorless touch to it. It’s predictable, stereotyped and just wrong. Cinematography by Kalyan Sami and editing work is inconsistent, while the music by Geetha Ponik is loud. The background music is an assault on your ears.

Chiru Godavalu is stupid. There really is no other way to describe it. Even Chiru Godavalu’s makers would have a difficult time denying that.

A two hours of my life I will never get back. Thanks a lot.
