Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) is transferred to Kanpur as a Police Station In-charge. Chulbul’s happy life with wife Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha) brother Makhidas (Arbaz Khan) and Father (Vinod Khanna) gets disturb when he come across the villain Bachcha Bhaiyya (Prakashraj).
Bachcha Bhaiyya is a local Minister who does all illegal activities and exploits many innocent citizens by misusing his power. His two brothers Genda & Chunni always accompany him. As Chulbul started destroying Bachcha Bhaiyya’s illegal wisdom and also kills his men including his real brother Genda when he tried to kidnap a bride. But Chulbul had to pay for doing his honest duty when Bachcha Bhaiyya takes revenge. Rest of the story is how Chulbul fights back and all goes well with Happy Ending.
Screenplay (Dileep Shukla) and direction (Arbaaz Khan) is ineffective. In a film where Salman is doing the lead role, it is very important to get the comedy timing/ Fight sequences right. But, the director failed to do so. The narration is old fashioned and the taking is very antediluvian. Music by Sajid-Wajid is mediocre. So is the background score. Cinematography by Aseem Mishra is not up to the mark.
Salman Khan looks good. He performed action episodes well. Sonakshi is neat as Rajjo. Prakash Raj is not up to the mark as baddie Bachcha Bhaiya. Vinod Khanna – Arbaaz Khan are okay. Kareena sizzled in Fevicol se track. Malaika Arora is cameo is fine. Mahie Gill and Deepak Dobriyal are wasted.
Dabangg 2 fails to engage the viewer, in the absence of a credible screenplay and you can sit through most of the scenes only if you are a hardcore Salman fan. For the rest of you, well, it could turn out to be quite a ho-hum affair.
