Will they both get married? Will Ashima know about the Vicky’s job? Does she forgive? Are they able to have normal life? forms the rest of the story line.
Performances: The first thing that attracted me in Vicky Donor is the lead cast performance in the trailers. They didnt disappoint ,Ayushmaan and Yami were just rocking on screen. Ayushmaan gave a commendable job as a sperm donor. Yami Gautam has given a brilliant performance as Ashima Roy. Annu Kapoor is skilled for his character. Dolly Ahluwalia (as Dolly) provided is a delectation to watch. rest of the cast is apt.
Technical Aspects: This kind of story and screenplay (Juhi Chaturvedi) is very irregular in Indian Films. Shoojit Sircar has made a good debut as a director with this film. To narrate such an adultish story in an interesting style for 2 hours is not an easy task. Expect the predictable second half, direction by Shoojit is first rate. Screenplay of the film is neat and entertaining. Dialogues are simple, entertaining and informative.
- Stress increases sperm count decreases
- Shaadi is waste of money and sperm
- Mard ko Samajne wali ladiki ko bagwan ne banayi kaha
Abhishek – Akshay’s music is fab. Especially Rum Whiskey, Pani Da Rang and Mar Jayian were top of the charts. Even picturization and timing of the songs is very good. Kamaljeet’s cinematography is neat . Editing by Shekar Prajapatim is could have been crispier.
Survi Verdict: Vicky Donor first half is very clean and entertaining. Especially scenes between Annu and Ayushmaan were hilarious. Second half goes on regular love drama stuff. The dramatic second half misses the crucial feel. John Abraham, Debut producer must be appreciated for his bravo attempt. The Positives of Vicky Donor are Performances, Music, Direction, Screenplay and Dialogues. On the flip side its Predictable second half, Lack of Emotional feel and On the whole, Vicky Donor a well Crafted, Well Performed, Well Written movie. Go for it guys!!
Survi Review: 3.25/5 (0.25 for unique attempt)
