Chillar Party (2011) Movie Review

Chillar Partydirected by Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari, Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Music by Amit Trivedi.

Chillar Party Starring Irrfan Khan, Raju, Sanath Menon, Rohan Grover, Naman Jain, Vishesh Tiwari, Chinmai Chandranshuh, Vedant Desai, Sherya Sharma, Divji Handa.

Chillar Party Storyline Is all about few innocent and naughty kids, living in Chandan Nagar society, whose lives change when ‘Fatka‘ (a domestic help) and his dog ‘Bhidu‘ enter their lives. Things take a turn when ‘Bhidu’s’ life is endangered and they call out for a battle against a local politician, who is on a mission to drive away stray dogs from Mumbai.

Chillar Party performances The kids not only performed well on the screen, but also maintained good ease in dialogue delivery and appeared very normal and natural on the screen. Esp. Jhangiya ( Naman), Shaolin (Divij), Enclyclopedia (Sanath), Silencer (Vedant), Aflatoon (Aarav), Panauti (Chinmay), Toothpaste (Sherya), Akram (Rohan), Second Hand (Visshesh) and Fatka (Irfan Khan) were just rocking on screen. Even the oldies support cast does not destroy the movie.

Chillar Party Technical Aspects Movie totally out of the box, has been dealt with competence. The characters are aptly delineated. The screenplay(Vijay Maurya) is well written and the dialogues are meaningful. Audiography (Amit Trivedi) and background score (Sourav Rai) is good.  Cinematography (Amitabha Singh) is top notch, helps to convey the children’s emotions vividly. Production values are standard. Director has failed in building up the right tempo in second half  with well written scenes.

  • Kids Acting
  • Songs (Amit Trivedi)
  • Dialogues
  • First Half
  • Storyline

  • Second half Drags
  • Slow narration

Scenes I Liked:

  • History about Children’s Pet names
  • Interval bang
  • Chaddi march
  • Munna Giri Dialogues

Survi Verdict Chillar Party could have been better. However, you can give it a try for its honesty. Don’t expect too much and you may not come out disappointed. Its not a bad bet I go with 3/5.

Bottom Line: Chill Karne ka tho Chillar party Jaane ka.. 🙂

Suggestion: Baade Isse Enjoy Karneka tho Bacha Baneke jaane ka 😀
